Jordan is one of the Arab countries that is has a very deep relations and many researcher and expert in the IT and internet field, and also looking to be one of the leader of the IT and internet usage. Consequently, internet use has gained importance. The main objective of the government is to make Jordan attractive for investors especially in the field of information technology also provide internet services to every home through ISP, and the government trying to achieve all of what the people needs from the IT.
Internet services were first available in Jordan from the mid 1990s. Before that the market in Jordan was witness to a great development, but the Gulf war has its effect on the Jordan in every field such as economy and technology and other effects. Public Institution for Wireless Communications was turned into a state owned company by was operating on commercial basis, under the name of the “Jordan Communication company”. Until 2004, it was the only company offering national and local phone services owned by government. In 2004, the government sold its shares to France Telecom which became the dominant player in the communication sector in Jordan, holding 51% of the capital.
And now internet services become know to every one and available in every home because Jordan got around 4 ISP and these services required and very important to achieved the Jordanians work These steps have contributed to an increase in the number of Internet users from to 630,000 in 2004 a total of 11.7 users per 100 citizens, this is a high rate in comparison to other Arab countries. |

The local website content is in both language Arabic (the native language) and English. By the end of 2002 all schools were expected to be connected to the Internet and all pupils and teachers were expected to have free email. There are free accesses in libraries with registration, theses library owned by public sector unfortunately the private sector does not play much in the field specially, post offices, employment agencies, and national information centers, which provide information with wide range in Jordan. All internet service providers in Jordan have to pass through the governmental network in order to block some unwanted website which means they may be exposed to censorship by governmental bodies at any time.

Since long time ago, starting 2000 and later the use of Information and Communication Technology in Jordan has been steadily increasing. The use of telephones, main lines and mobile phone which become the most usage than telephone, is high in Jordan. E-commerce is available, but not widely used. Supermarket goods that any one can got what he want in the same place include every things, travel, insurance and banking are available to consumers but they are just starting to consider e-commerce. The telecommunication sector become important and popular that support Jordanians in there life, telephone is the basic in Jordan but mobile usage become more and more use but the telephone can never stop in Jordan or even can finish on day.

As it is very important for student, teacher and home also internet and computers are very important, these service has starting use in Jordan in 2000 and later, it was just for organizations and companies because of the cost was much high.
However, Jordanian employers needs internet to look out for they search about in there companies and find out the information related to there jobs and achieve there business. The most important point since Jordan not an industry country, so the internet can be an alternative of there needs by have information from out side and be developed with the IT and most invention.
